Fiona Banfield
MEMBER BIO
My name is Fiona Banfield. I am excited to be working with the individuals seeking employment supporting them with independent living skills development here in the Upper Peninsula. I am originally from Petoskey, where I am a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. I worked for their tribal government for over ten years. Working as an administrative Assistant for the Natural Resource department it fueled my love for the outdoors.
I love anything that has to do with water, hiking to waterfalls, spending time at the beach are my favorite ways to spend time in the summer. In the winter hockey takes over most of our lives, since both my husband and son play hockey. I also worked in the Human Services department which helped me to find my passion when it comes to work. This was the first real job that I realized that I could work with people to help them to better themselves. I love working with people and hearing their stories. I am grateful to be able to work with the tribes here in the U.P. to see how we can collaborate with them in helping people with disabilities to live more independently here in the UP.
